Apr 18, 2011 - Starting from the link given above, I installed PyQt4 on my Mac OS X Snow Leopart machine using Enthought Python Distribution 7 (EPD7).
I evidently am missing the QtWebKit and QtWebKitWidgest with the latest Qt5.6.0 and PyQt5.5.1, and I got the subsequent error when I attempted to operate spyder

Since you are on a Mac, I would make use of Homebrew. This worked well for me the other day, but required a long time to finish:

configure-ng.py
wants bothqmake
andsip
to configure the build process. The error message indicates that
configure-ng.py
could not locate theqmake
executable. You require to identify its location, with something like this:$ python configure-ng.py -qmake=/path/to/qmake
The place of qmake depends on 1) how you set up it and 2) the OS you are usually using.
For Mac OS, the less painful way (in my case) is definitely to install
drink
andqmake
making use of Homebrew$ brew install drink
$ make install qt
brew
will install them in the listing:/usr/nearby/Cellar/
Then, operate
configure-ng.py
with indicating both places:If all good, carry on PyQt set up:
make
requires a while (around 20 mins in my situation). And finally, install:
create
may needs admin permission$ sudo make

Without control line using PyCharm IDE. Furthermore I didn't want to install Qt.:
- Download Python 3.6.1 (dual click to install).
- Download PyCharm IDE (dual click on to install).
- Move to PyCharmgt;Preferencesgt;Project Interpreter.
- Stage the project interpreter path to python.3.6.1
- '+' switch, research for pyqt5. Choose PyQt5 edition 5.8.2 than click on install package.
Automatically it can be heading to install PyQt 5.8.2 and Drink. After installed just, arrive back to Project Interpreter and create sure that Drink was installed as well. If it can be not set up: '+' key and install sip.
Consider this code to see if it works for you as well. :)
